Arrest Records in Wasco County
Wasco County arrest records begin with the agency that took action. The Wasco County Sheriff's Office handles unincorporated areas and local law enforcement in Dufur and Mosier. The Dalles Police Department handles city incidents, while Oregon State Police covers highways and state enforcement, including I-84 and U.S. routes. None of those agencies runs the regional booking facility.
NORCOR performs intake for a four-county area. It creates custody data, takes fingerprints and a booking photo, and records charges and bail as presented at booking. If prosecutors file a case, Wasco Circuit Court then creates a court register. These records may differ for a time because they capture separate stages. The arresting report, booking file, OSP history, and court judgment should never be treated as the same product.
Wasco Arrest Roster Timing
The official NORCOR Adults in Custody roster is a timestamped, scrollable table. It is not a name-search form or a historical Wasco County arrest log. Read the update time first. The roster includes people held for Wasco, Hood River, Gilliam, and Sherman counties, so a row does not by itself prove a Wasco County arrest.
The source view below shows the official current-custody interface rather than an arrest gallery.

Use its charge and case context to identify the likely county, then confirm the event with the arresting agency or court.
Wasco County Arrest Lookups
Start with the source closest to the event. A no-result at one stage does not erase another stage, and a new booking may appear before a prosecutor files charges.
- Check the timestamped NORCOR roster for current custody. Call 541-298-1576 about a current person or someone released during the prior 24 hours.
- Identify the arresting agency. Ask WCSO, The Dalles Police, or OSP for the incident or arrest report it created.
- Use the OJD Records and Calendar Search after charging, then request exact filed records from Wasco Circuit Court when needed.
- For your own fingerprint-linked statewide record, send OSP a fresh FD-258 card, the Copy of Own Record form, and the researched $33 fee.
- When a record is not online, file the written WCSO or NORCOR records request with a date, location, names, and precise document type.
This order separates quick status from proof. The roster can answer who is held now. The agency report explains the arrest. The court file supplies the filed charge and outcome.
Requesting Older Wasco Bookings
No official WCSO daily arrest blotter or historical NORCOR search was verified. For an older jail file, use NORCOR Public Information. Requests may go to Administration at 201 Webber Street, The Dalles, by mail or in person, to inquiries@norcor.co.wasco.or.us, or by fax at 541-298-1082.
The official public-information page pictured below is the fallback when a name has rolled off the live roster.

Ask for a booking or custody record, not the arrest narrative. NORCOR did not investigate the incident, so the narrative remains with the arresting agency.

Arrest Records: What They Contain
A Wasco County arrest report can hold more detail than the public roster. Public access depends on the custodian, the status of the investigation, and protected information. Booking photos are not republished here.
| Date, Time, and Place | The reported arrest time and location in the agency record. |
|---|---|
| Arresting Agency | WCSO, The Dalles Police, OSP, or another authorized agency. |
| Alleged Charges | The legal basis listed at arrest or booking, subject to later change. |
| Booking Data | Booking date, fingerprints, photo, intake information, charge, and bail. |
| Public Roster Fields | Name, photo thumbnail, booking date, charges, bail, and scheduled release when shown. |
| Release Status | A current or expected status that may change after court action or earned credit. |
| Not Public on Roster | Booking number, arresting agency, warrant number, housing unit, and detailed bond type are not displayed. |
For proof of the final result, obtain the filed judgment through the Wasco County court case lookup. A roster charge is only the custody-stage description.
Wasco Arrest Record Custodians
Send the request to the office that created the record. The Wasco County Sheriff accepts written requests by email, fax, mail, or hand delivery. A generic county request form excludes sheriff records, so using it can cause delay.
| Custodian | Record and Contact |
|---|---|
| WCSO | Sheriff incident and arrest reports; Suite 102; sheriff@co.wasco.or.us |
| The Dalles Police | City incident and arrest reports; 401 Court Street; 541-296-2233 |
| Oregon State Police | Highway and state incidents; The Dalles Area Command; 541-296-9646 |
| NORCOR | Booking and custody files; 201 Webber Street; 541-298-1576 |
| Wasco Circuit Court | Filed charges and dispositions; Suite 305; 541-506-2700 |
WCSO's report price bands are $17.98 for 1 to 24 pages, $23.98 for 25 to 49 pages, and $59.95 for 50 or more pages. Costs above $25 receive a written estimate and require prepayment. Review and redaction time may add actual staff cost.
Recent Wasco County Bookings
The NORCOR roster is the most direct official view of recent Wasco County bookings, but it shows current custody across four counties. A released person may disappear from that public table. Call the jail for someone currently held or released within 24 hours. After that window, use a public-information request.
Scheduled release dates are not fixed promises. Court action, work credit, or good time may alter them. The live roster is also not certified. It should be used to locate a possible booking, then checked against an official booking file or filed court document when accuracy matters.
A call can confirm listed charges and very recent release status, but NORCOR does not provide a telephone warrant check. The roster may show a warrant-related booking after custody begins, not an outstanding-warrant search before arrest. For releasable warrant material, use the WCSO request process or check public court events with the correct court.
Note: Absence from the current NORCOR roster does not prove that no Wasco County arrest occurred.
Wasco Arrests Reach OSP
At booking, qualifying arrest fingerprints move into Oregon's central identity process. OSP Criminal Justice Information Services reports receiving roughly 400 criminal arrest fingerprint cards each day statewide. A positive match links the event to an existing history or starts a new identity file.
The court outcome arrives later from a different office. This split explains why a fingerprint arrest cycle may temporarily lack a disposition. Oregon's limited name-based Open Record on another person contains convictions and arrests from the prior calendar year when OSP has no court outcome. For self-review, fingerprints provide the identity-linked channel. Charges may still be declined, changed, dismissed, or resolved in court.
The official Oregon VISOR service offers custody and supervision status notifications.

VISOR is a notification layer, not a certified Wasco County arrest history or a substitute for the arresting agency's file.
Wasco Booking Bail Process
NORCOR accepts bail through the Telmate lobby kiosk with cash or card, or by telephone at 866-516-0115. Staff must be notified after a telephone posting. Bring official photo identification and follow the facility's posted entrance directions because the lobby is closed to ordinary public visitation.
The official NORCOR bail page explains the custody and payment route.

The court, not NORCOR, holds bail funds. It retains 15 percent as the security-release cost, with a $5 minimum, and may apply funds to other monetary obligations before a refund follows the court's order.
Arrest Records vs Conviction Records
An arrest records an accusation and custody action. A conviction records a court finding. The first may exist even when no charge is filed, and the charge stated at booking may be amended or dismissed.
| Point | Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|---|
| Created by | Arresting agency and booking jail | Oregon Circuit Court |
| Shows | Arrest facts, allegations, booking, bail, and release | Filed offense, plea or verdict, judgment, and sentence |
| Official source | WCSO, police, OSP, or NORCOR | Wasco Circuit Court and later OSP history |
| Possible result | Release, no filing, or later court case | Conviction, acquittal, dismissal, appeal, or set-aside order |
Note: A Wasco County arrest is not proof of guilt, and the booking charge may not match the final judgment.
